Our Pastors Nuestro Pastores Small Group Ministry

DESCRIPTION:
A Small Group is a number of people (believers) periodically joining together in a place to study God’s word, share experiences, pray, and as a result, spiritually grow. Our church currently has a prayer group, a ladies group, a mens group and a youth group. These groups continue to gather together and they now represent an important base of fellowship for our church (The Body of Christ).

PURPOSE:

The purpose of attending or guiding a small group is to grow spiritually healthy lives and to build community by getting to know each other, helping each other and by working together towards the goal that others will come to know Jesus Christ.

Small Groups consist of:

  • A Host - A host opens the doors to their house, office or other space to receive the other members of the group. This person only needs to have a heart for hospitality and a desire to serve others.
  • A Leader- A leader shares the word and guides the group’s discussion. Being trained as a teacher isn’t necessary, one only needs to have a basic understanding of Christian concepts and the Word of God.
  • Members - Members attend the group, share, and participate by discussing the material and commenting on their experiences.

    • COMMITMENT:
    We commit to attending the group meetings at the time and place agreed upon, and to make punctionality and attendence priorities as they are important for the health of the group and help create an atmosphere of comfort and trust. Small groups should try to have the characteristics of biblical fellowship: authenticity, mutuality, sympathy, mercy, honesty, humilty, courtesy, confidentiality and frequency.
