Prayer Ministry
DESCRIPTION:
The Prayer Ministry is about direct communication between people and God.
Figuratively speaking, we could say that prayer is like a telephone that is never busy; you can call any day, at any hour, from any place. The great benefit of prayer is that God hears you because He is ALWAYS waiting for your call. It’s not like when you try to call the office, home or to a friend and it’s busy, or there’s no answer, or you get the machine or a receptionist, or an automated system that asks a million questions before you get to someone who can actually talk to you. Prayer is direct communication with God. When your heart is ready and you think of Him, He hears you and is focused on what you want to say to Him. Prayer is a direct link between you and God.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of our ministry is to establish a close personal relationship with God, to thank Him for his blessings, and to petition him for our needs and the needs of others. We do this in two ways: personally, in our own space and time, and communally, coming together to pray as a group to express that we are a united family. We pray for our church family members and their well-being.
ABILITIES/RESOURCES NEEDED:
To be a part of the prayer ministry you must be confident that our prayers are heard and answered by God, according to His plan and timing. Faith is the most needed resource for this ministry, as well as the expectation of a favorable answer and the patience to wait for it. The answers to prayers are very often found while reading the Bible or listening to the Sunday sermon, so we request you read your Bible daily and attend weekly worship services. To pray for others you also need to have a genuine interest in them and their concerns. Lastly discretion is needed, some prayers are requested be kept confidential.
COMMITMENT:
We ask that you commit to praying at least 15 minutes every day, and to loving the other members of our Christian family and praying for them and their needs. We ask that you be on the lookout for answered prayers and be ready to give testimony about them when it is necessary and convenient.
